Elckerlyc International School is part of PROO (Stichting Openbaar Primair en Speciaal Onderwijs), the public education foundation responsible for primary and special education in Leiden and Leiderdorp. PROO provides education for more than 5,000 children across 21 schools, including 19 primary schools and 2 schools for special education. Each school has its own educational profile while benefiting from the support, expertise and shared services of the wider organisation. As a public education foundation, PROO is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education for all children, regardless of their social, cultural or religious background. PROO’s core values are equality, engagement, ownership and connection. These values guide the organisation’s work and support its aim of providing excellent education with attention for every child.
