The parent teacher participation council (MR) is the forum where parents and teachers can discuss the policies of the school.
The MR participates in the making of decisions on policy proposals of the school council and board of directors. They also participate in how policies are formulated. The MR is in the position to comment on the way and manner the school is governed, this means that the MR uses its power of assent and / or its advisory jurisdiction. Parents can bring any matter or suggestion that they feel is important for school under the attention of the MR by filling in the contact form below.
Elckerlyc is a part of PROO (Stichting Openbaar Primair en Speciaal Onderwijs), the public education foundation repsonsible for primary and specail education in Leiden and Leiderdorp.
This foundation is governed by a Supervisory Board and an Executive Board. The Executive Board is responsible for the strategic direction and daily governance of the foundation and acts as the employer of all staff working within PROO schools. Each school is led by its own director, who is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and development of the school.
Parents and staff are represented through the Participation Council (Medezeggenschapsraad, MR) and the Joint Participation Council (Gemeenschappelijke Medezeggenschapsraad, GMR).
The MR meets every 5 to 6 weeks and these are public meetings. Approved minutes are available from the administration office. They can also be requested directly from the secretary by sending an email to mr.elckerlyc.leiderdorp@gmail.com
