Starting a new life in a different country can be both exciting and overwhelming, especially when children are involved. At Elckerlyc International School, we understand what international families are going through. Located in the town of Leiderdorp, just outside of Leiden in the Netherlands, we offer a warm and welcoming environment for children aged 4 to 12. As a primary (elementary) school with an international focus, we support families during this transition by offering not only education, but also stability, care and reassurance.

Adjusting to a new environment can be challenging for children. Understandably, parents want to know that their child will be happy, understood and supported. At Elckerlyc, we focus on making sure every student feels seen, safe and included from the very first day. You can count on us to walk alongside your family as you settle in.

Elckerlyc International School offers high-quality international education for an annual fee of €4,200 per child. This includes a full year of Multilingual instruction, small class sizes, and personal support from a dedicated team. Unlike many other international schools, there are no additional enrollment or capital fees. Tuition can be paid in full or in installments, making it more manageable for relocating families. While we do not offer in-house after-school care, this allows us to keep tuition affordable without compromising on educational quality

Children can enroll at Elckerlyc International School if they meet specific criteria set by Dutch regulations for international education. This includes children of non-Dutch nationals temporarily living in the Netherlands for work. Dutch children who have lived abroad for at least two years due to a parent’s job also qualify. Additionally, Dutch children whose parent will be working abroad for a minimum of two years within the next two years are eligible. We are happy to help families assess their situation and guide them through the process.
