Numeracy at Elckerlyc International School
Children are taught Numeracy through the National Numeracy Strategy for England & Wales.
To ensure each child is able to work to their potential and has a good grasp of the foundation concepts, the numeracy curriculum is very practical in its nature. Children work in small groups some receiving structured support to strengthen their foundation, whilst others move on to extension work to apply learned concepts.

Within the Numeracy Strategy, a set of goals are given which children should have reached by the end of each school year.
Throughout the school year, assessments are carried out by class teachers, to establish to which degree these goals have been met.
